Updated October 28, 2026

Quick answer

Louvre tickets cost 22 € if you are a national or resident of a European Economic Area country and 32 € if you come from outside the EEA, which includes visitors from the US and the UK. These are the official prices in force since January 14, 2026. Under-18s and EEA residents under 26 get in free, and so does everyone on the first Friday of each month from 6:00 pm (except July and August) and on July 14.

General admission price

General admission costs 22 € for EEA nationals or residents. It is a single price: the Louvre has no reduced rate for museum entry, only free admission. The ticket is for a specific date and time slot and allows a single entry: if you leave the museum, you can't get back in on the same ticket. Once bought it cannot be changed, exchanged or refunded, unless the museum itself cancels. On the official website you can buy up to 6 tickets or audio guides per purchase, and only euros are accepted.

Price for visitors from outside the EEA

If you are not a national or resident of an EEA country, the ticket costs 32 €, 10 € more than the European rate. You count as a resident if you hold a residence permit or a visa of more than 3 months in one of those countries. The EEA is the 27 European Union countries plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, so a traveler from the US, the UK, Canada or Australia pays 32 €. If you are paying the 22 € rate, bring the document that proves it: staff may ask for it at the check.

Who gets in free or at a reduced rate

Free admission covers under-18s of any nationality, with ID, and EEA residents under 26, with proof of identity and residence. Entry is also free for everyone on the first Friday of each month from 6:00 pm, except in July and August, and on July 14, France's national holiday. The official list adds other cases, always with proof:

  • People with disabilities — Free for the person and one companion.
  • Jobseekers resident in the EEA — With proof less than six months old and photo ID.
  • Recipients of minimum income benefits in the EEA — With official proof.
  • Art teachers resident in the EEA — With a stamped certificate from their school.
  • ICOM members and journalists — With a valid card (national or international press card, for journalists).

Price of guided and combined tours

The museum's own guided tours and workshops cost 12 € (9 € reduced) and do not include the ticket: you have to add the 22 € or 32 €. The official audio guide costs 6 €. The tours we sell through our booking partner already include museum entry and start at $66 per person (masterpieces guided tour with reserved entry, English-speaking guide). A tour for a group of up to 6 people with a Spanish-speaking guide costs $110, and the combo with a Seine boat ticket $81. All 10 options let you cancel for a full refund up to 24 hours ahead.

What the ticket includes

General admission gives access to the permanent collections, the temporary exhibitions and the Musée National Eugène Delacroix (whose single ticket costs 9 €), if you visit it within 48 hours of first use. The exhibition in the Hall Napoléon needs a separate booking. It does not include the audio guide or the museum's guided tours. The 9 € reduced rates for guided tours and workshops apply, among others, to under-18s and to EEA residents aged 18 to 25.

Where to buy it for the best price

The cheapest price for the ticket alone is always the official one: 22 € or 32 € on the museum's online ticket office, ticket.louvre.fr. At the physical ticket desk on the day there are only tickets subject to availability, paid by cash, card or Chèques-Vacances. A booking partner costs more because it sells something else: a tour with a guide, in a small group or in another language, with entry included and free cancellation up to 24 hours ahead, which the official ticket does not allow. If you are visiting several museums in two days, the 2-day Paris Museum Pass costs 85 € and includes the Louvre, though with a mandatory time-slot booking.

Frequently asked questions

How much are tickets to the Louvre?

22 € for EEA nationals or residents and 32 € for all other visitors. Under-18s and EEA residents under 26 get in free.

Do US or UK visitors pay 22 € or 32 €?

32 €. The US and the UK are not in the EEA, so you pay the non-European rate unless you hold a residence permit or a visa of more than 3 months in an EEA country.

Are there cheap Louvre tickets?

The cheapest ticket is the official one, because the museum has no reduced rate for entry: only free admission. If you are under 26 and live in the EEA, you get in free; otherwise, on the first Friday of each month from 6:00 pm (except July and August) entry is free for everyone.

Can you get a refund on a Louvre ticket?

The official ticket cannot be changed, exchanged or refunded unless the museum cancels. The tours with entry included that we sell let you cancel for a full refund up to 24 hours ahead.

Do you need to book even if entry is free?

Yes, the museum recommends it for everyone, and from October 17 to November 1, 2026 booking is mandatory for all visitors. On the online ticket office you choose the free option that applies to you.
